প্রধানমন্ত্রী শ্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদি শুক্রবার বলেছেন, ভারতের সংবিধান ‘ভারতীয়দের মর্যাদা ও ভারতের একতা’ নিশ্চিত করেছে| লোকসভায় সংবিধান দিবসের বিশেষ সভা ও সংবিধানের রূপকার ডক্টর বি. আর. আম্বেদকর-এর ১২৫ তম জন্ম বার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে তিনি একথা বলেন|
প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, ভারতের মত বৈচিত্র্যময় দেশে সংবিধানের বিধানকে আমাদের কার্যকরভাবে মানুষের কাছে নিয়ে যেতে হবে| ২৬ শে নভেম্বরকে সংবিধান দিবস হিসেবে পালন করার মধ্য দিয়ে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের সেই চিন্তাধারাই প্রতিফলিত হয়| তিনি বলেন, এই ধারণা সময়ের সঙ্গে বিকশিত হবে|
প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, আমাদের সংবিধান যাঁরা নির্মাণ করেছেন, তাঁদের জন্য কোনোও রকম প্রসংশা ও স্তুতিই যথেষ্ট নয়| তিনি আরও বলেন যে, ডক্টর আম্বেদকরের অবদান কখনই অস্বীকার করা যাবে না| প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, ডক্টর বি. আর. আম্বেদকরের চিন্তাধারা ও শিক্ষা অখন্ডনীয়, সত্য এবং সব প্রজন্মের জন্য প্রযোজ্য|
তিনি বলেন, সহযোগিতা ও সহমতের মধ্য দিয়েই গণতন্ত্র শক্তিশালী হয়েছে;সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ বা সংখ্যালঘিষ্ঠের ধারণা সবসময়ই শেষ অবলম্বন|
প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, নাগরিকদেরও তাঁদের অধিকার ও কর্তব্য নিয়ে সমান মনোযোগ দেওয়া উচিত| প্রধানমন্ত্রী তাঁর ‘ভারতীয়তার ধারণা’ (আইডিয়া অফ ইন্ডিয়া) কে ‘সত্যমেব জয়তে’ ও ‘সর্ব পন্থ সমভাব’ হিসেবে বর্ণনা করেন|
