अमेरिका के विदेश मंत्री माइकल आर. पोम्पेयो ने आज सुबह प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी से मुलाकात की।
विदेश मंत्री पोम्पेयो ने राष्ट्रपति श्री डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प की ओर से प्रधानमंत्री को उनकी चुनावी जीत के लिए बधाई दी।
प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने विदेश मंत्री पोम्पेयो को गर्मजोशी से बधाई देने के लिए धन्यवाद दिया और राष्ट्रपति ट्रम्प को शुभकामनाएं देने का अनुरोध किया।
प्रधानमंत्री श्री मोदी ने कहा कि भारत अमेरिका के साथ अपने संबंधों को प्राथमिकता देता है। उन्होंने सरकार के नए कार्यकाल में रणनीतिक साझेदारी के लिए अपने दृष्टिकोण को रेखांकित किया। यह साझेदारी, परस्परविश्वास और साझा हितों के सिद्धांत पर आधारित है।
विदेश मंत्री श्री पोम्पेयो ने कहा कि अमरीकी सरकार भारत के साथ मजबूत द्विपक्षीय संबंध बनाना चाहती है और साझा लक्ष्यों को प्राप्त करने के लिए साथ मिलकर काम करना चाहती है।
प्रधानमंत्री श्री मोदी ने व्यापार और अर्थव्यवस्था, ऊर्जा, रक्षा, आतंकवाद के विरूद्ध लड़ाई और दोनों देशों के लोगों के बीच संपर्क के क्षेत्र में द्विपक्षीय संबंधों की पूरी क्षमता हासिल करने के लिए अपनी प्रतिबद्धता व्यक्त की।
