प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने आज बिश्केक में महात्मा गांधी की प्रतिमा का अनावरण किया जिसका लोगों ने प्रसन्नता से स्वागत किया। इस अवसर पर उन्होंने कहा कि यह मध्य एशिया की उनकी पहली यात्रा है और इस दौरान उन्होंने दो देशों में महात्मा गांधी की प्रतिमा का अनावरण किया है।
प्रधानमंत्री ने महात्मा गांधी को ‘विश्व मानव’ – मानव निर्मित सीमाओं से मुक्त बताया। उन्होंने कहा कि बापू न केवल उनकी पीढ़ी के लिए नहीं बल्कि भविष्य की पीढ़ी के लिए भी पथप्रर्दशक हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि वर्तमान में िवश्व दो बड़ी समस्याओं-आतंकवाद और जलवायु परिवर्तन से जूझ रहा है, जिनका समाधान महात्मा गांधी के जीवन और विचारों से पाया जा सकता है।
प्रधानमंत्री ने किर्गिस्तान के लोगों और नेताओं को लोकतांत्रिक सरकार अपनाने के लिए बधाई दी।
