PM shares glimpses of the Somnath, Gujarat

PM notes that the eternal temple showcases civilisational courage and unbroken devotion

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today shared glimpses of the Somnath Amrut Mahotsav.

Observing the holy flag waving proudly on the towering spire of the sacred Somnath Temple, the Prime Minister stated that it is a symbol of the victory of India’s faith and a divine proclamation of the collective consciousness of millions of Indians. Shri Modi emphasised that the saffron flag on the peak of Somnath is a living victory saga of unbroken devotion that will continue to sing the glory of India for eternity and inspire every Indian.

Recalling the history of the temple, the Prime Minister noted that a thousand years ago, the first of many attacks on Somnath took place by those who believed they could shatter the ethos of the land. He highlighted that thanks to the fiercely courageous children of Bharat Mata, Somnath kept getting rebuilt. Shri Modi observed that seventy-five years ago on this day, the doors of the newly rebuilt Somnath Temple opened in the presence of the then President Dr. Rajendra Prasad, proclaiming to the world that while the attackers have faded into the dust of history, the soul of Bharat endures. Adding that Somnath stands tall and eternal, showcasing civilisational courage and unbroken devotion, he prayed for the blessings of Mahadev to always remain upon all.

In a series of posts on X, the Prime Minister wrote:
