PM designate Shri Narendra Modi strongly condemned the terror attack on the Indian consulate in Herat, Afghanistan.

Shri Modi also spoke of the security concern with the President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai.

Shri Modi said that India saluted the bravery of both, the Indian and the Afghan security forces

PM designate Shri Narendra Modi strongly condemned the terror attack on the Indian consulate in Herat, Afghanistan. Shri Modi not only spoke to the Indian Ambassador to take stock of the situation, but also keenly pursued the matter and spoke of the security concern with the President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai. During the talk, President Karzai had assured Shri Modi that Afghanistan would do everything to protect Indian Missions in Afghanistan.

Commending the soldiers who fought with the terrorists, Shri Modi said that India saluted the bravery of both, the Indian and the Afghan security forces. He also appreciated the indomitable spirit and high morale of the Consulate staff which had enabled them to see through the difficult circumstances.
