Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today, addressed a gathering during the release of instalment under the Annapurna Yojana in West Bengal via video conferencing. Expressing his profound joy at connecting with the citizens on a special occasion, the Prime Minister conveyed his deepest respects to the mothers and sisters of Bengal. He emphasized that their unwavering trust and affinity serve as a massive source of personal empowerment. “Your trust is my strength!” remarked Shri Modi.

Acknowledging the cultural significance of the day, the Prime Minister took a moment to celebrate a sacred festival dedicated to creation and craftsmanship. He extended his warmest greetings to all the citizens honoring this special occasion. “I extend my heartiest greetings to all of you on Vishwakarma Puja,” affirmed Shri Modi.

Highlighting the dawn of a transformative era in the state, the Prime Minister celebrated the introduction of a new tradition designed to empower local women through the Annapurna Yojana. He extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to every female beneficiary stepping into this new chapter of capability. “Today, new capabilities have been added to the mothers and sisters of Bengal,” noted Shri Modi.

Reflecting on the immense domestic responsibilities shouldered by women, the Prime Minister acknowledged how they meticulously manage families through countless daily decisions. He pointed out that alleviating their financial anxieties regarding essential expenses naturally elevates their self-assurance. “When they have less worry about necessary expenses, their self-confidence increases even more,” observed Shri Modi.

Describing the Annapurna Yojana as a crucial intervention to bolster female confidence, the Prime Minister detailed how a guaranteed monthly deposit provides profound life support. He noted that receiving this fixed amount without having to ask anyone ensures financial dignity for the women. “This is a huge support for their lives. This is a big help!” asserted Shri Modi.

Presenting the tangible impact of the initiative, the Prime Minister announced that the fourth installment of 3,000 rupees is successfully reaching the bank accounts of approximately 1.5 crore sisters. He explained that this recurring financial assistance serves as a vital lifeline for purchasing medicines, household necessities, or funding a child’s education. “For a sister, it could be a support to buy medicine or essential household items,” noted Shri Modi

Outlining the broader vision behind the financial assistance, the Prime Minister stated his firm belief in endowing women with robust decision-making power and the courage to advance. He congratulated the beneficiaries while reaffirming the central role the Annapurna scheme plays in this empowerment strategy. “The women of Bengal should also have the power of decision-making and the courage to move forward,” asserted Shri Modi.’

The Prime Minister credited the mothers and sisters of the state for playing the most pivotal role in ushering in political change after enduring numerous hardships. He emphasized that the new government’s primary benchmark is to improve their Ease of Living by adhering strictly to the mantra of ‘Less talk, more work’. “The very first test before our new government was to make the lives of Bengal’s women easier,” affirmed Shri Modi.

Detailing the rapid execution of the welfare agenda, the Prime Minister highlighted that work on the Annapurna Yojana commenced within days of the new government taking office. He celebrated the seamless, direct bank transfers reaching millions of women while strictly eliminating corrupt practices.Underscoring the administration’s commitment to absolute inclusivity, the Prime Minister assured that rapid efforts are underway to guarantee comprehensive coverage across the state. “It is also the goal of our government that not a single eligible woman should be deprived of the benefits of the Annapurna Yojana,” affirmed Shri Modi.

Detailing a comprehensive lifecycle approach to female empowerment, the Prime Minister listed a multitude of prioritized interventions ranging from the Matru Vandana Yojana for pregnant women to the Beti Bachao – Beti Padhao movement. He enumerated sweeping initiatives, including building crores of school toilets, opening Sainik Schools for girls, providing Mudra loans, increasing maternity leave, delivering Ujjwala gas and Har Ghar Jal water connections, distributing Ayushman cards, and securing joint property rights under PM Awas, to comprehensively address every challenge faced by women from childhood through motherhood. “Solving every problem related to the life cycle of mothers, sisters, and daughters has been the highest priority,” asserted Shri Modi.

The Prime Minister assured the public that the current administration is rapidly accelerating these previously stalled programs to ensure timely delivery. “Now, under the present government, these stalled schemes have been taken forward at a rapid pace,” noted Shri Modi.

Citing the PM Awas Yojana as a prime example of renewed momentum, the Prime Minister announced that over 50 lakh newly identified poor families in the state will soon receive permanent houses, alongside the rollout of the PM Vishwakarma Yojana. He attributed this revival of pending projects to the overwhelming blessings and support of the local women, projecting a collaborative vision for the state’s future. “We will all together build a new Bengal,” affirmed Shri Modi.

Linking regional progress to the national vision, the Prime Minister expressed absolute confidence that local women will continue to accelerate the development journey toward a Viksit Bharat. He emphasized that the nation’s overarching resolution is fundamentally strengthened by the capabilities of a developed state. “With the strength of a Viksit Bengal, the resolution of a Viksit Bharat will become even stronger,” asserted Shri Modi.’
