The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has congratulated Sharmila on winning the Gold medal in the Women’s Shot Put F57 event at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026.
The Prime Minister said that her season-best throw is a remarkable achievement and noted that it ends a two-decade-long wait for a Para Athletics Gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.
