On the occasion of Thiruvalluvar Day, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi paid homage to the versatile sage Thiruvalluvar, whose timeless works and ideals continue to inspire innumerable people across generations.

Shri Modi noted that Thiruvalluvar envisioned a society rooted in harmony and compassion, values that remain deeply relevant in today’s world. He emphasized that Thiruvalluvar personifies the finest aspects of Tamil culture, standing as a beacon of wisdom and unity.

PM urged the citizens to engage with the profound teachings of the poet-saint.

In separate posts on X, Shri Modi stated:

He personifies the best of Tamil culture. I urge you all to read the Tirukkural, which gives a glimpse of the outstanding intellect of the great Thiruvalluvar.”

“திருவள்ளுவர் தினமான இன்று, ஏராளமான  மக்களுக்கு உத்வேகம் அளிக்கும் படைப்புகளையும் சிந்தனைகளையும் கொண்ட பன்முக ஆளுமை  திருவள்ளுவருக்கு மரியாதை செலுத்துகிறேன். நல்லிணக்கமும் கருணையும் நிறைந்த ஒரு சமூகத்தின் மீது அவர் நம்பிக்கை வைத்தார். தமிழ்க் கலாச்சாரத்தின் சிறந்த அம்சங்களுக்கு அவர் எடுத்துக்காட்டாகத் திகழ்கிறார்.  திருவள்ளுவப் பெருந்தகையின் சிறப்பான அறிவாற்றலை வெளிப்படுத்தும் திருக்குறளை நீங்கள் அனைவரும் படிக்க வேண்டும் என்று நான் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறேன்.”
