It is a huge honour, dear Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to welcome you here in Nice. A few months ago, we jointly launched the 'Year of French-India Innovation' in Mumbai. The question was not whether India was innovating, but rather who would innovate in partnership with India... Dear Prime Minister, I would like to congratulate you on your visit here, and just a few days ago, you became the longest-serving Prime Minister of India since its independence. It has been a long journey that reflects your steadfast resolve and the strength of your country; it is truly remarkable. We are, therefore, very proud to have you here among us.

The story of modern Australia cannot be told without recognising the remarkable contribution of the Indian-Australian community. From entrepreneurship and innovation to healthcare, education, technology and public service, Indian Australians continue to help shape the nation’s success. As India emerges as a global economic powerhouse and moves towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy, the bridge between our two nations grows stronger through trade, investment, education, technology and deep people-to-people connections. Together, Australia and India are building one of the most important strategic and economic partnerships of the 21st century

The last visit of an Indian Prime Minister on a bilateral mission prior to this one dates back to two the year 2000, 26 years ago, and today, with this visit, not only are we bridging this gap, but together we have decided to revitalise our relations

There has been a lot of change in India, over a number of years we have been there and one example I think is how trade has been simplified between the states inside India and Prime Minister Modi today talked about building ships in India and that is very close to my heart since we have 25% of the marine coatings industry in the world we have a 25% market share so the more ships you will build in India the more business we have an opportunity to get in India

The honorable Prime Minister and one of the things that I was very impressed with when I met him the first time in the vibrant Gujarat was his detailed knowledge about the port sector and the importance of the transport sectors in driving economic progress and he had a very specific knowledge about the port sector from his time as minister in Gujarat

Alexander Stubb, President of Finland

I would like to congratulate you (PM Modi) for your leadership. My last visit to India was in 2013 in my capacity as Minister of Trade and the change that I just saw on the streets of New Delhi and I will most probably see a lot in Mumbai in a couple of days, is palpable. This is an economic miracle that we're witnessing.
