Prime Minister today paid floral tributes at the Shastri Memorial in Tashkent. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the passing away of the former Prime Minister in Tashkent in 1965.
At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, His Excellency Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, His Excellency Mr. Narendra Modi, paid a State Visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan from 29 to 30 August 2026.
The conferment of the “Oliy Darajali Do’stlik” Order reflects the deep-rooted civilisational ties and the steadily deepening India-Uzbekistan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
On arrival at the Kuksaroy Presidential Palace, Prime Minister was warmly received by President Mirziyoyev and accorded a ceremonial welcome. He conveyed his warmest wishes to Uzbekistan on the occasion of their 35th anniversary of Independence.
