The verse emphasises that Dharma is upheld by truth, knowledge is preserved through regular practice, beauty is maintained through cleanliness and family honour is safeguarded through virtuous conduct.
Sharing a Sanskrit Subhashitam, the Prime Minister wrote on X;
“सत्येन रक्ष्यते धर्मो विद्याभ्यासेन रक्ष्यते।
मृजया रक्ष्यते रूपं कुलं वृत्तेन रक्ष्यते॥”
