The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, will leave today for a 2-day visit to Sikkim and Assam. After arriving in Gangtok this afternoon (18th January), he will visit an orchid display and a seasonal flowers exhibition.
The Prime Minister will attend the State Agricultural Ministers Conference on sustainable development, organic farming and eco-tourism, in Gangtok. He is scheduled to be present at the Conference for over two hours, during which he will also address the gathering.
The Prime Minister will visit an organic products exhibition in Gangtok tomorrow (19th January) morning, and will interact with organic farmers.
Shri Narendra Modi will then leave for Assam.
The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for a new building for IIIT Guwahati, and address the students of IIT, NIT and central universities of the North-East.
I am eagerly awaiting my 2-day visit to the Northeast. Will participate in various programmes in Sikkim & Assam and interact with citizens.
