પ્રધાનમંત્રી શ્રી નરેન્દ્ર મોદીએ આજે (9-1-2016) પંજાબમાં પઠાનકોટ એરબેઝની મુલાકાત લીધી, જ્યાં હમણાં જ આતંકવાદીઓએ હુમલો કર્યો હતો.
આ દરમિયાન રક્ષાદળોના વરિષ્ઠ અધિકારીઓએ પ્રધાનમંત્રીને આવા ગંભીર આતંકવાદી હુમલાનો સામનો કરવા માટે ચાલનારા પોતાના સંયુક્ત આતંકવાદ-વિરોધી અભિયાન અને તલાશ અભિયાનોની બાબતમાં વિસ્તૃત જાણકારી આપી. પ્રધાનમંત્રીએ એરબેઝમાં સંબંધિત ઘટના સ્થળોની સાથે સીમા ક્ષેત્રનું હવાઈ સર્વેક્ષણ પણ કર્યું.
આ યાત્રા દરમિયાન પ્રધાનમંત્રીની સાથે રાષ્ટ્રીય સુરક્ષા સલાહકાર શ્રી અજીત ડોવાલ, થલ સેના, વાયુસેના અને એનએસજી તથા સીમા સુરક્ષા દળના પ્રમુખ શ્રી ઉપસ્થિત હતા.
