ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਨਰੇਂਦਰ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਚੀਤਾ ਦਿਵਸ ‘ਤੇ ਚੀਤੇ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਜੀਵ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਭਾਲਵਾਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈਆਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤਿੰਨ ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸਾਡੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਜਾਨਵਰ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਈਕੋਸਿਸਟਮ ਨੂੰ ਬਹਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਚੀਤਾ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਵਧ-ਫੁੱਲ ਸਕਣ। ਇਹ ਗੁਆਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਨ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਜੈਵ ਵਿਭਿੰਨਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਇੱਕ ਯਤਨ ਸੀ।”
ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਐੱਕਸ ‘ਤੇ ਪੋਸਟ ਕੀਤਾ:
“ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਚੀਤਾ ਦਿਵਸ ‘ਤੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਚੀਤੇ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਜੀਵ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਭਾਲਵਾਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਸ਼ੁਭਕਾਮਨਾਵਾਂ। ਤਿੰਨ ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਸਾਡੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਜਾਨਵਰ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਈਕੋਸਿਸਟਮ ਦੀ ਮੁੜ-ਬਹਾਲੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਚੀਤਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਧ-ਫੁੱਲ ਸਕੇ। ਇਹ ਗੁਆਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਨ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਜੈਵ ਵਿਭਿੰਨਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਇੱਕ ਯਤਨ ਸੀ।”
