പ്രളയം ദുരിതം വിതച്ച തമിഴ്നാട്ടിലെ പ്രദേശങ്ങള് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി സന്ദര്ശിച്ചു. തമിഴ്നാട്ടിലെ ചെന്നൈ, കാഞ്ചീപുരം, തിരുവള്ളൂര് ജില്ലകളില് വ്യോമനിരീക്ഷണം നടത്തിയ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി തമിഴ്നാട് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ജയലളിതയുമായി സ്ഥിതിഗതികള് ചര്ച്ചചെയ്തു.
കനത്ത മഴകാരണമുണ്ടായ നാശനഷ്ടങ്ങളും ദുരിതങ്ങളും കണ്ടു. ”പ്രയാസത്തിന്റെ ഈ സന്ദര്ഭത്തില് ഇന്ത്യാ ഗവണ്മെന്റ് തമിഴ്നാട്ടിലെ ജനങ്ങള്ക്കൊപ്പം നിലകൊള്ളും. അടിയന്തര സഹായമായി തമിഴ്നാടിന് 1000 കോടി രൂപ നല്കാന് ഞാന് നിര്ദ്ദേശിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. നേരത്തേ അനുവദിച്ച 940 കോടിക്കു പുറമേയാണിത്”-പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു.
