സ്വച്ഛഭാരതം എന്ന കാഴ്ചപ്പാട് യാഥാര്ത്ഥ്യമാക്കുന്നതിന് മഹാത്മാഗാന്ധിയെക്കാള് വലിയ പ്രചോദനം മറ്റൊന്നുമില്ലെന്ന് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ശ്രീ.നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി പറഞ്ഞു. ഇന്ത്യ ടുഡേ ഗ്രൂപ്പ് സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച സഫായിഗിരി ഉച്ചകോടിയിലും പുരസ്കാരദാനത്തിലും പങ്കെടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം. കഴിഞ്ഞ ഒരുവര്ഷത്തിനിടെ നിരവധിപേര് ഈ കാഴ്ചപ്പാടിന് ശക്തിപകര്ന്നതായും ഇലക്ട്രോണിക് മാധ്യമങ്ങള് ഇതില് ക്രിയാത്മകമായ പങ്കുവഹിച്ചതായും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു.
ശുചിത്വം ഒരു ശീലമാണെന്ന് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി. ഈ ശുചിത്വശീലം വളര്ത്തിയെടുക്കാനായാല് പിന്നെ ഒരു വ്യക്തിക്ക് ഒരിക്കലും വൃത്തിഹീനമായ സാഹചര്യങ്ങള് വെച്ചുപൊറുപ്പിക്കാനാവില്ലെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. വ്യക്തിശുചിത്വത്തില് അതീവ ശ്രദ്ധ പതിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഇന്ത്യക്കാര് സാമൂഹ്യശുചിത്വം അവഗണിക്കുകയാണെന്നും ഇത് തിരുത്തപ്പെടേണ്ടതുണ്ടെന്നും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു.
വൃത്തിഹീനമായ സാഹചര്യങ്ങള്കാരണം ഇന്ത്യയില് ഓരോ ദിവസവും 1000 കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള്വരെ മരിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. സ്വച്ഛഭാരതം ഗവണ്മെന്റിന്റെ മാത്രം പദ്ധതിയല്ല, എല്ലാവരുടേയും പദ്ധതിയാണ്. ഇന്ത്യ വൃത്തിയായിരിക്കണമെന്ന് 125 കോടി ഇന്ത്യക്കാര് തീരുമാനിച്ചാല് തീര്ച്ചയായും അത് നടപ്പിലാക്കാന് സാധിക്കും-പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു.
