പിഎം ഇന്ത്യ
ഗുരുത്വാകര്ഷണ തരംഗങ്ങളെ കുറിച്ച് പഠിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള ലേസര് ഇന്റര്ഫെറോമീറ്റര് ഗ്രാവിറ്റേഷണല് വേവ് ഒബ്സര്വേറ്ററി ഇന്ത്യ- ലിഗോ-ഇന്ത്യ) എന്ന പദ്ധതിയ്ക്ക് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ശ്രീ. നരേന്ദ്ര മോദിയുടെ അധ്യക്ഷതയില് ചേര്ന്ന കേന്ദ്ര മന്ത്രിസഭാ യോഗം തത്വത്തില് അംഗീകാരം നല്കി.
കേന്ദ്ര ശാസ്ത്ര- സാങ്കേതിക വകുപ്പും ആണവോര്ജ്ജ വകുപ്പും ചേര്ന്നാണ് പദ്ധതി തയ്യാറാക്കിയിട്ടുള്ളത്. പ്രപഞ്ചത്തിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ നിഗൂഢതകളിലേയ്ക്ക് വെളിച്ചം വീശാന് ഉതകുന്നതരത്തില് പുതിയൊരു വാതായനം തുറന്ന ഗൂരുത്വാകര്ഷണ തരംഗങ്ങളുടെ ചരിത്രപരമായ കണ്ടെത്തലിന്റെ പശ്ചാതലത്തിലാണ് ഈ നിര്ദ്ദേശം.
അമേരിക്കയിലെ ലിഗോ പരീക്ഷണ ശാലയുടെ സഹകരണത്തോടെയാവും ഇന്ത്യയിലും അത്യാധുനിക ഗൂരുത്വാകര്ഷണ പരീക്ഷണ ശാല സ്ഥാപിക്കുക.
ഗൂരുത്വാകര്ഷണ തരംഗങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞര്ക്കും എഞ്ചിനീയര്മാര്ക്കും പുതിയ അറിവുകള് പകരാനും, ഗവേഷണം നടത്താനും ഇതു വഴിയൊരുക്കും.
