1965 ലെ യുദ്ധത്തിലെ ഇന്ത്യന് സൈന്യത്തിന്റെ വിജയത്തിന്റെ ഓര്മ്മക്കായി പഞ്ചാബില് നിര്മ്മിച്ച മൂന്ന് സ്മാരകങ്ങള് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ശ്രീ.നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി ഇന്ന് (നവമ്പര്11, 2015) സന്ദര്ശിച്ചു.
ദോഗ്രയിലെയും ബക്രിയിലെയും യുദ്ധസ്മാരകങ്ങള് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി സന്ദര്ശിച്ചു. 1965 ലെ യുദ്ധത്തില് ഇന്ത്യന് സൈന്യം നേടിയ രണ്ട് സുപ്രധാന വിജയങ്ങളായിരുന്നു ദോഗ്രയിലേതും ബക്രിയിലേതും.
യൂദ്ധ ടാങ്കുകള് ഉപയോഗിച്ച് കടുത്ത പോരാട്ടം നടന്ന അസല് ഉത്തറും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി സന്ദര്ശിച്ചു. വീര് അബ്ദുല് ഹമിദിന്റെ പോരാട്ടവീര്യത്തിന്റെ പേരിലാണ് അസല് ഉത്തറിലെ യുദ്ധം അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്. മരണാനന്തരം പരമവീരചക്രം നല്കി രാഷ്ട്രം അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ആദരിച്ചിരുന്നു. അബ്ദുല് ഹമിദിന്റെ സ്മാരകത്തില് റീത്ത് സമര്പ്പിച്ച് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ആദരാഞ്ജലികളര്പ്പിച്ചു.
ദോഗ്രി യുദ്ധസ്മാരകം, ബര്കി യുദ്ധസ്മാരകം, അല്വാരയിലെ എയര്ഫോഴ്സ് സ്റ്റേഷന് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില്വെച്ച് കരസേനയിലെയും വ്യോമസേനയിലെയും ഓഫീസര്മാരുമായും ജവാന്മാരുമായും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ആശയവിനിമയം നടത്തി.
എല്ലാവരും ദീപാവലി കുടുംബത്തോടൊത്ത് ചെലവഴിക്കാന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നെന്നും അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് കഴിഞ്ഞവര്ഷം സിയാച്ചിന് സന്ദര്ശിച്ചതുപോലെ ഈ വര്ഷം സായുധസേനയിലെ ജവാന്മാരോടും ഓഫീസര്മാരോടുമൊപ്പം ചെലവഴിക്കാന് തീരുമാനിച്ചതെന്ന് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു. ഈ വര്ഷം 1965 ലെ യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ 50ാം വാര്ഷികമാണെന്നും ഇന്ത്യന് സേനയിലെ ധീര യോദ്ധാക്കള് രാഷ്ട്രത്തിനായി സ്വയം ബലിയര്പ്പിച്ച സ്ഥലങ്ങള് സന്ദര്ശിക്കാന് താന് തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നുവെന്നും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു.
സൈനികര് ദീര്ഘകാലമായി ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന ഒരു റാങ്ക് ഒരു പെന്ഷന് ഗവണ്മെന്റ് അംഗീകരിച്ചതായി പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു.
