पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी अफगाणिस्तानचे अध्यक्ष महमंद अश्रफ घनी यांच्याशी संवाद साधला. भूकंपामुळे झालेल्या हानीबद्दल त्यांनी दु:ख व्यक्त केले.“आताच आपण अफगाणिस्तानचे अध्यक्ष अश्रफ घनी यांच्याशी संवाद साधला आणि भूकंपामुळे झालेल्या हानीबद्दल सहानुभूती आणि दु:ख व्यक्त केले. अश्रफ घनी यांनी नुकसानीचा प्राथमिक अंदाज सांगितला. शक्य ती सर्व मदत मी देऊ केली.
भूकंपामुळे शाळेची इमारत कोसळून लहान मुले मृत्युमुखी पडल्याचे अश्रफ घनी यांनी सांगितले. या वृत्ताने मी व्यथित झालो आहे.
शाळेच्या या वृत्ताविषयी अश्रफ घनी मला सांगत असताना 2001 मध्ये अंजार, कच्छमध्ये झालेल्या अशाच दुर्घटनेचे स्मरण झाले. आपले मन व्यथित झाले” असे पंतप्रधानांनी म्हटले आहे.
