ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਰੇਂਦਰ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੇ 25 ਸਤੰਬਰ 2019 ਨੂੰ ਨਿਊ ਯਾਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਮਹਾ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ 74ਵੇਂ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਉੱਚ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਸੈੱਗਮੈਂਟ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਬੈਲਜੀਅਮ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਚਾਰਲਸ ਮਿਸ਼ੇਲ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੇ ਯੂਰਪੀ ਪਰਿਸ਼ਦ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਚੁਣੇ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਚਾਰਲਸ ਮਿਸ਼ੇਲ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈਆਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ।
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੇਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਲਜੀਅਮ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਬਿਹਤਰੀਨ ਸਬੰਧਾਂ ਅਤੇ 2017 ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਲਜੀਅਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਦੇ ਅਵਸਰ ‘ਤੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਫੈਸਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਮੀਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਰਪੀ ਸੰਘ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਰਣਨੀਤਕ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਸਬੰਧਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਡੂੰਘਰੇ ਬਣਾਉਣ ‘ਤੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਦੋਵੇਂ ਨੇਤਾ ਦੁਵੱਲੇ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਵਪਾਰ ਸਮਝੌਤੇ, ਆਪਸੀ ਸੰਪਰਕ, ਆਤੰਕਵਾਦ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ, ਬਹੁਪੱਖੀ ਸੰਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਈਗ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਤੇ ਮੋਬਿਲਿਟੀ ‘ਤੇ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤੀ ਸਿੱਟੇ ‘ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਯਤਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਹਿਮਤ ਹੋਏ।
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੇਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ‘ਤੇ ਵੀ ਸਹਿਮਤੀ ਜਤਾਈ ਕਿ 15ਵੇਂ ਭਾਰਤ-ਯੂਰਪੀ ਸੰਘ ਸਿਖਰ ਸਮੰਲੇਨ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
