வெள்ளம் காரணமாக ஏற்பட்டுள்ள பேரழிவு நிலவரத்தை ஆய்வு செய்வதற்காக பிரதமர் திரு. நரேந்திர மோடி இன்று சென்னைக்கு வருகை தந்தார். தமிழ்நாட்டில் வெள்ளத்தால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள சென்னை, காஞ்சீபுரம், திருவள்ளூர் மாவட்டங்களில் பிரதமர் வான்வழி ஆய்வு மேற்கொண்டார். வெள்ள நிலவரம் குறித்து முதல் அமைச்சர் செல்வி ஜெயலலிதாவிடம் பிரதமர் ஆலோசித்தார்.
அதைத்தொடர்ந்து “கடும் மழையால் ஏற்பட்டுள்ள பாதிப்புகளையும் துயரத்தையும் கண்டேன். இந்த தருணத்தில் தமிழக மக்களோடு மத்திய அரசு துணை நிற்கும். நிவாரணப் பணிகளை மேற்கொள்வதற்காக தமிழக அரசுக்கு உடனடியாக ரூ. 1000 கோடியை வெளியிடுமாறு உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளேன். இந்தத் தொகை ஏற்கனவே அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள ரூ. 940 கோடியுடன் கூடுதலாக இந்த தொகை வழங்கப்படும்” என்று கூறியுள்ளார்.
